Veriacity Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 17, 2026
1. What Information Do We Collect?
- Standard Users: Full name, date of birth, address, phone number, email, national ID number, a copy of your national ID, a passport-sized photo, and GPS coordinates.
- From Agencies: The same categories of personal information for the individual or representative operating the account, plus (for institutions) business registration and tax information, and business documents.
- Automatically: Login timestamps and a record of which agency accounts viewed which Standard User records ("access logs"), described in Section 4.
- Payment data: We do not store your card number or mobile money PIN. Payment amount, provider, status, and a provider-issued transaction reference are stored to confirm and reconcile payments.
2. How Do We Use The Information We Collect?
- To verify your identity before granting full access to the Platform.
- To let agencies review a verified Standard User's payment history when making a lending decision.
- To calculate a payment-timeliness rating from loan and installment data agencies enter.
- To send account-related emails (verification confirmation, payment confirmation).
- To detect and investigate misuse of the Platform.
3. Who We Share Information With?
- Agencies: Can view a Standard User's verified profile and loan/rating history when:
(a) they created a loan for that user, or
(b) they look the user up directly by Account ID. - Third Parties: We do not sell personal information to third parties.
- Legal Obligation: We may disclose information where required by Liberian law or a valid legal process.
- Payment Providers: Payment providers (MTN Mobile Money, Orange Money, our card processing partner) receive the minimum transaction information necessary to process a payment.
4. Access Logging
Every time an agency views a Standard User's full record, we log which agency account, which record, and when. This exists to protect Standard Users from undisclosed or excessive lookups and to support any dispute about how a record was used.
5. Data Retention
We retain verification documents and loan/payment history for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward as required for dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
6. Your Rights
You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, and request account deletion, subject to our legal obligation to retain certain records (e.g., completed loan history relevant to an active dispute). Contact us using the details in the Contact section to make a request.
7. Security Measures
We apply the following measures to protect your information: encrypted storage of passwords, access logging on sensitive records, and watermarking of records viewed by agencies to deter unauthorized redistribution. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Platform is not directed at, and must not be used by, anyone under 18.
